The Canadian Mental Health Association Durham (CMHA Durham) is proud to announce the launch of MIRA (Mental Health Interactive Recovery Assistant), a new AI-powered chatbot now available on the CMHA Durham website. This innovative digital tool is designed to help individuals explore mental health topics, access trusted resources, and connect with support services, anytime, anywhere.
Developed in partnership with the Mood Disorders Society of Canada, MIRA represents a significant step forward in CMHA Durham’s commitment to accessible, client-centered care. With mental health needs continuing to rise, MIRA offers a confidential and user-friendly way to get support and information 24/7.
What MIRA Offers:
- Interactive guidance on mental health topics
- Quick access to local and national support resources
- A privacy-first experience that respects user dignity
- Fully bilingual and culturally sensitive support
“MIRA is a powerful example of how technology can be used to break down barriers to mental health support,” said Sheryl Wedderburn, Chief Executive Officer of CMHA Durham. “By offering this tool on our website, we’re making it easier for people to find help on their own terms—privately, and when they need it most.”
This initiative reflects CMHA Durham’s ongoing efforts to meet people where they are—online—and to provide innovative tools that empower individuals to take charge of their mental wellness.
