We Need Your Help! Donate handmade masks
With the current pandemic there is a worldwide shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). We take the safety of our staff and clients very seriously and in preparation for a potential shortage, we are asking for your help.
If you or someone you know is able to sew and are willing to assist us, we need home made cloth medical masks to help protect the most vulnerable members of our community. While fabric masks are not to be used in the care of COVID-19 patients, according to the CDC, fabric masks are a crisis response option when other supplies have been exhausted. Fabric masks can also be helpful in other areas of patient care as supplies of PPE are depleted. They can also be used in conjunction with medical grade masks to help extend their life.
It has been recommended that pleated masks with ties are more comfortable and allow for variable sizing.
Completed masks can be dropped off at the donation bin at our 60 Bond St office during business hours, Monday to Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. Tax receipts are available upon request. If you have any questions please email FeliceaN@cmhadurham.org.
