CMHA Durham’s Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic welcomes the LGBTQ community
The Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic within the Canadian Mental Health Association Durham location would like to welcome the LGBTQ community to our clinic, in particular individuals seeking a primary care provider. Our team includes RN’s & RPN’s, Nurse Practitioners, a consulting physician, and case managers.
CMHA Durham offers Specific Gender Transition Services such as counselling support, medical treatment initiation, hormone and therapy monitoring, gender-affirming surgical referrals including surgical planning & pre and post-op care. Additionally, we integrate cancer and disease screening, positive care clinic services, addictions support including tobacco cessation program, sexual health teaching and contraception, psychotherapy, psychiatry, and allied health including acupuncture, dental care, and foot care. There is a pharmacy on-site, and nurses perform bloodwork regularly as needed.
